Coleg Gwent offers a wide range of full, part time and higher education courses. These courses are designed to engage your interest from the start and help you to find the career you want. 14 to 19 years of age
Coleg Gwent offers a wide range of courses available to study full time.
The choice is endless from A Levels in Music, Maths and Media to A Levels in Science, Sociology or Spanish. Choosing to study A Levels can be your ticket onto higher education courses either here at Coleg Gwent or in University. Vocational courses are designed to give you broad knowledge and understanding of your chosen area of study as well as build your skills practically in areas such as Beauty Therapy, IT, Engineering and Performing Arts.
Apprenticeships & Traineeships
If you’re ambitious and want to get your career off the ground, Modern Apprenticeships can help you. You’ll learn practical skills and gain respected qualifications that will help you make a career you can be proud of. You’ll normally train as an apprentice between 18 months and four years and on completion, you’ll get a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 3 as well as key skills and a specific industry qualification.
Higher Education, Post Graduate and Professional
Coleg Gwent offers a range of higher education and professional courses to study on a full and part time basis. By choosing Coleg Gwent, you can study for a Higher National Certificate (HNC), a Higher National Diploma (HND) or a Foundation Degree. When you have completed your course, you can study for a full degree at one of the College’s partner universities including the University of Wales, Newport and the University of Glamorgan. Some of the professional courses available include the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) Certificate in Business Accounting, and the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) Diploma in Coaching and Mentoring.
Adult Learners
Coleg Gwent offers a range of courses available to study part time. Whether you’re looking for a new hobby or have always wanted to pursue a certain career, you’ll be sure to find what you’re looking for at the College. Part time courses are available in all sorts of subject areas from construction to computers and from aromatherapy to art and design.
Employers
With cutting edge courses and professional staff, the Business Development Unit (BDU) is at the forefront of the training world. The BDU is a commercial arm of Coleg Gwent and is well known for its expertise in developing tailored training packages to meet business needs.
