The College

Swansea College is the largest Further Education college in the South West Wales region. We offer hundreds of courses for students – whether you’re about to leave school, are returning to learning after time away from education or looking to boost your qualifications and CV.

We have sites across Swansea – including our main site at Tycoch, our creative arts hub Llwyn y Bryn, the Kingsway Centre in the heart of the city and the Business College in Llansamlet. Our staff will help students at every stage of their college experience – from applications and funding to transport and course choices.

Courses

Swansea College aims to provide the widest choice of study available for both full time and part time students. Almost 30 AS and A Level subjects are offered along with a wide range of vocational courses and training for industry.

The College also boasts a thriving Modern Apprenticeship programme.

14 -19 years of age

Swansea College has a dedicated team of lecturers who provide suitable courses for 14-16 year old students as part of their Year 10 and 11 GCSE studies.

Our courses have been developed to respond to the specific skills needs identified in a number of industry sectors across South Wales area. They include Sport and Leisure, Business Admin and Accountancy, Hospitality Travel and Tourism, Health and Social Care and Electronics and Engineering.

Apprenticeships & Traineeships

Swansea College offers different levels of Modern Apprenticeships that are available throughout the year. On successful completion a nationally recognised Modern Apprenticeship framework is awarded. They offer work based training and the opportunity to gain essential skills and qualifications without having to study full time. They are available across a wide range of occupational routes. Apprentices usually undertake a work placement for four days and attend College once a week.

Higher Education, Post Graduate and Professional

Swansea College offers Access, Higher Education [HE], Professional and Postgraduate courses in partnership with some of Wales’ leading HE organisations.

Our HE courses have a vocational bias and are linked to industry needs – resulting in qualifications that will transform your CV and take your career to the next level. Subject to a strict quality approval process, our courses are validated by our HE partners and other relevant bodies to ensure they meet the highest standards.

Adult Learners

Swansea College offers a wide range of courses for adult learners.

From Access courses to GCSEs, A levels and Diplomas, these courses cover many subject areas including IT, Hair and Beauty, Childcare, Catering, Accountancy, Electronics, Arts and Crafts and are delivered at a selection of convenient locations around the Swansea area.

Our Community Operations team works closely with partner organisations in Swansea to offer basic skills and adult community courses throughout the city.

Employers

With over 20 years’ experience of meeting the needs of industry, the Business College offers the learning and skills solutions a company needs to succeed. We blend traditional and cutting edge business solution techniques to offer organisations a tailored solution to meet individual needs. Services include ‘bite-size’ training packages, interview techniques, basic skills and qualifications including NVQ, HNC/HND/Foundation Degree and Apprenticeships.

Service sectors include Construction, Customer Service, Engineering, Health and Safety, Management and many more.

International

Swansea College offers a number of courses suitable for International students in both vocational and professional study. Courses include the International Foundation with pathways such as Law, Humanities, Business, A Levels, International Baccalaureate, National Diplomas and Higher National Diplomas.

English Language support is available and can be arranged to suit your needs. The International Office will also offer you advice on accommodation, tuition fees and applications.

Open Evenings

Swansea College Open Evenings enable prospective students to find out more about the range of full time and part time courses we offer. Our friendly staff are on hand to give advice on support and funding and students can also look around our facilities [Sports Centre, Learning Zone, Broadway Hair and Beauty Centre, Counterpoint Theatre etc.]
